The Vulcain name stands as a byword for excellence, generational craftsmanship, and exceptional technical prowess in watchmaking. Ever since introducing the first alarm wristwatch in 1947, Vulcain has ceaselessly honed its watchmaking artistry. Striking a balance between precision and innovation, the brand’s collections evolve, each unveiling unique timepieces that embody elegance and sophistication.

Today, we are thrilled to unveil the Skindiver Lagoon Vulcain x Ocarat watch, a collaborative creation with Ocarat, offered exclusively on our website. Drawing inspiration from a 1960 Vulcain classic, this reissue is limited to just 50 numbered pieces.

The round case in brushed 316L stainless steel measures 38.30 mm in diameter; it has a thickness of 12.20 mm and the lug-to-lug distance is 44.50 mm. The dial has an aperture of 30 mm. The notched, unidirectional 120-click bezel features a 36.80 mm black ceramic insert with a minute scale, accentuating its sporty-chic aesthetic. The dial is covered by a domed sapphire crystal that protects it from damage and daily shocks. The polished, fluted crown at 3 o’clock measures 6.5 mm; emblazoned with the Vulcain logo, it allows adjustment of the central indicators. The stainless steel snap-off case-back ensures the watch is water-resistant to 20 ATM.

The Dial
The magnificent round dial catches the eye with its luminous matte turquoise-blue shade, creating a unique visual harmony. The hour markers come in different versions – round, triangular or rectangular – and are paired with two polished baton hands for the hours and minutes. Enhanced with white Super-LumiNova® for outstanding legibility in low light, the indications are both practical and stylish. A sleek, polished grey second hand completes the ensemble, sweeping smoothly to track time. Finally, the brand’s signature, pad stamped, at 12 o’clock, with the ‘Swiss Made’ label appearing at 6 o’clock.

The Movement
Driving this watch is a Swiss-made automatic movement, the reliable ETA 2824 caliber with hour, minute and seconds hands. It features 25 jewels, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers a robust 38-hour power reserve.

The Strap
Complementing this timepiece is a black cowhide strap, its carbon pattern texture and matching stitching offering a striking, authentic look. 20 mm wide, it is equipped with a 16 mm pin buckle.
The quick-release system allows for effortless strap changes.

Water resistance
With a water resistance rating of 20 atmospheres, corresponding to 200 meters, this model can safely be classified as a diver’s watch. Our expert watchmakers confirm its suitability for showers, baths, sport swimming, snorkeling, or recreational scuba diving. However, it is not designed for extreme diving in abyssal depths, where the pressure would get the better of its water resistance. For depths beyond, models rated at 30 ATM (atmospheres) or higher are advisable. Additionally, to maintain impeccable water resistance, it is best to avoid manipulating the crown while submerged.
