A line of rose gold transforms the character of Bianchet’s flying tourbillon Tonneau UltraFino, tracing its black ceramic integrated architecture with a subtle precious accent.
A fine balance between technical and precious, sporting and elegant.
For its latest interpretation of the Tonneau UltraFino, Bianchet explores the meeting of two contrasting materials. High-tech black ceramic, chosen for its technical and contemporary character, meets the warmth and refinement of rose gold.
This timepiece will make its first public appearance at SIAR Mexico, the premier Haute Horlogerie exhibition in Latin America, where Bianchet returns with an edition distinguished by its architectural refinement. A fine line of 18K rose gold runs beneath the bezel, emphasizing the fluidity of a case conceived as a visually continuous form, free from visible interruptions.
Against the deep black of the ceramic case, integrated bracelet and black titanium movement, this Golden Line creates a subtle contrast, echoed by the hands and the rose-gold rotor visible within the openworked movement.
THE GOLDEN LINE
The Golden Line is not an applied decorative accent, but a separate component of the case construction.
On Bianchet’s Tonneau UltraFino watches, a distinct component positioned beneath the bezel creates a fine seam between the different architectural layers of the case. Traditionally executed in rubber as one of the Maison’s recognizable design signatures, it is reinterpreted here for the first time as a component crafted from rose gold and assembled beneath the bezel.
Following the contours of the tonneau case, the Golden Line accentuates its geometry, highlighting the interplay between fluid curves and sharper facets without interrupting the continuity of its form. Its warm reflection appears and disappears with the movement of the wrist, subtly tracing the silhouette of the predominantly black architecture.
This detail also introduces a deliberate tension between two very different materials. The technical character of high-tech ceramic and the traditional preciousness of gold.
SPORTINESS, REFINED
This contrast is what defines the character of the Tonneau UltraFino Black Ceramic. The case and integrated bracelet are crafted from black high-tech ceramic, a material whose lightness, resistance and contemporary appearance naturally reinforce the sporting dimension of the Tonneau UltraFino.
Satin-brushed surfaces and polished bevels give depth to the black ceramic, enhancing the distinctive geometry of the case and bracelet through changing light reflections.
Within this dark architecture, the restrained use of rose gold brings warmth and refinement. The Golden Line and hands are echoed by the 18K rose-gold rotor, extending the dialogue between black and gold from the exterior of the watch into the movement itself.
As a result, this new interpretation of the Tonneau UltraFino embodies a fine balance between technical and precious, sporting and elegant.
ULTRA-THIN FLYING TOURBILLON
At the heart of the watch beats Bianchet’ s UT01 automatic flying tourbillon calibre, developed and assembled in-house in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Only 3.85 mm thick, the movement features a resilient openworked titanium architecture that reveals the ultra-thin mechanical construction of the calibre, with its 2.66 mm non-magnetic titanium tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock, and suspended barrel at 12 o’clock.
At the back of the movement, the 18K rose-gold rotor, designed around Fibonacci geometry, combines the functional role of automatic winding with one of the Maison’s recurring aesthetic signatures.
Here, geometry also serves a mechanical purpose, with the rear bridges, designed around concentric Golden Circles, contributing to shock resistance by helping to absorb and distribute the forces generated by the rotor’s inertia during severe impacts.
The UT01 offers a 60-hour power reserve and has been engineered to withstand shocks of up to 5,000 G. Its bridges are finished by hand according to the traditions of Haute Horlogerie, with more than 30 hours devoted to hand-bevelling alone.
At 40 mm wide and 8.9 mm thick, the Tonneau UltraFino Black Ceramic retains the subtly curved, ergonomic profile of the collection. It is delivered with both an integrated black ceramic bracelet and a black rubber strap, easily interchangeable thanks to Bianchet’s quick-release system. This allows the watch to shift easily from the sculptural presence of ceramic to the understated versatility of rubber.
